Subaru Forester Overview:

First and foremost, the Subaru Forester is capable. Packed with utility, the Forester makes it easy to transition seamlessly from the pavement to the trail, just like rolling from the workweek into the weekend. More than pure utility, this compact SUV is great for families thanks to its standard AWD, capacious cargo area, and comfortable seating, even for those riding in the rear seats.

Optional Subaru EyeSight® technology offers peace of mind with features like Automatic High-Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning, or Adaptive Cruise Control and the Subaru Forester now offers Reverse Automatic Braking as part of the package. Looking Closer at the Subaru Forester's Standard Features, Safety Equipment, & Technology

Standard Features:

As we previously mentioned, Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) is standard on the Forester, as is a Rear-Vision Camera, a stability control system called Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), and STARLINK™, Subaru's multimedia and infotainment system.

Safety Equipment:

When it comes to Subaru's reputation, a lot of that stems from its emphasis on safety. Safety is really important to you, which is why it's important to Subaru. Standard safety features include a Rear-Vision Camera, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Daytime Running Lights (DRL), Brake Assist, and a Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system. There are also available Subaru EyeSight® features for those seeking a little more peace of mind, as well as available features like High Beam Assist, Blind-Spot Detection/Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Reverse Automatic Braking.

Subaru Technology:

There are many Subaru technologies to be excited about, many of which we discussed above in the "Safety" section, but there's more than just safety tech in the Subaru Forester. There's a standard Subaru STARLINK™ 6.2-inch Multimedia system, with a 7-inch STARLINK™ Multimedia Navigation system available. It offers support for wireless smartphone pairing so you can get music and podcasts at the tip of your fingers. Audiophiles will surely appreciate the available Harman/Kardon Premium Sound System, with eight speakers and a 44-watt amp.

Available Trim Levels:

The current Subaru Forester lineup features offers six different trims: 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Limited, 2.5i Touring, 2.0XT Premium, 2.0XT Touring. Here are some trim-level highlights to help you make your decision along the path to the driver’s seat of that new Subaru Forester

2.5i:

Since we covered most of the features on the base trim in the Standard Features section up above, we’re going to gloss over a few here. The 2.5i base trim features starts with a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® engine rated at 170 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque.

2.5i Premium:

Building off the base trim, the 2.5i Premium brings 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, Subaru STARLINK™ Safety and Security, and a power slide/tilt panoramic moonroof. This trim also makes Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology and a Power Rear Gate available as options.

2.5i Limited:

Leather-trimmed upholstery, a Power Rear Gate, Fog Lights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and two great driver assist features: Blind-Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Soft-touch materials and driver-assistive tech make this trim a great option for Baton Rouge families.

2.5i Touring:

Building on the key features of the 2.5i Limited, the 2.5i Touring trim offers 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, a heated steering wheel, LED Steering Responsive Headlights, a one-touch folding rear seatback, dual-zone automatic climate controls, and an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat with a memory function.

2.0XT Premium:

Bolder style and a different engine give the 2.0XT trims more than a few reasons to climb the trim tree—about 250 reasons, thanks to 250-horsepower Direct Injection Turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® engine that sits inside. Other than a sportier suspension and paddle shifters mounted to the steering wheel, the 2.0XT Premium offers most of the features found on the 2.5i Premium. Here are some of the features that are worth considering on the 2.0XT Premium: 18-inch alloy wheels, All-Weather Package with heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

2.0XT Touring:

Like the 2.0XT Premium, the 2.0XT Touring carries over most of the core features found on the Touring trim, albeit with slightly different styling, a bolder front fascia, steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters, and sport-tuned suspension. It is also powered by the 2.0-liter 250-horsepower engine we detailed in the previous trim. Some of those key features to consider include leather-trimmed upholstery, a heated steering wheel, LED Steering Responsive Headlights, and a one-touch folding rear seatback, among a few others.
